Asparagus Bundles or Green Bean Bundles

"The flavor is indescribable. It exceeded all our expectations! I am posting this side dish because I want to encourage everyone to try this wonderful recipe. It is semi-sweet and very rich. Let me know what you think! Don't remember where I found it, but it's a staple at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and throughout the year. *The recipe calls for green beans, but I have only made it with Asparagus."

  1. I used fresh asparagus and cooked a little longer-- which made the bacon crispy as well. I'll cut back to 1/4 cup butter next time. Tastes great! The asparagus tips were crunchy and carmalized.

  2. This was a tasty new way to make asparagus. Even my kids enjoyed it. I liked the flavor of the sauce, however I did need to broil it for a few minutes to finish cooking the bacon. I used fresh asparagus and cooked it a few minutes longer than suggested and they were perfectly cooked, not too soft or too crunchy. Thank=you for a tasty treat.

  3. Also good w/ 1/4 c soy sauce instead of butter-and 1-1/2 c brown sugar we had it last night like that and it was FANTASTIC!! I will try this way also !!

  4. A friend of mine brought this to a girls' getaway weekend. She made it with the canned asparagus. It was SO good! I don't even like asparagus and I couldn't get enough of it.

  5. I made this for on a retreat with my friends and it was a HUGE hit with the asparagus lovers. If you like asparagus, you should definately try this recipe. It's very easy to make.
